Bless the TREK TEAM

I gotta say that I am so blessed to have the TREK team here from Canada to help us.  If you haven't heard the TREK program is a missionary team who sacrifice about 9 months of their life.  They train in Canada for about 7 months then they do ministry in their respective countries for about 7 months.  They have done an amazing job at doing ministries for children, English classes-including our English class on Friday nights, cleaning and doing hard manual labor, and even watching our kids for us.  I would like to publicly say thank you to each one of them.  So thank you Kevin, Melanie, Odai, Bryce, Shaggy, Haeli, and Ellie.
LORD BLESS YOU!

Day with Knot around Phan Thong

Such a great way to start the week.  Knot came over and we headed to our local coffee shop to study language, after that we headed to P' Subin's shop to hang out with him and spend some time together.  Next we stopped by a motorbike shop looking at prices for scooters and ended up meeting the staff and inviting all of them to our Friday Night English class.  Finally we ended up finding a shop to purchase a new pair of glasses, and inviting the shop owner to our English class as well, who said they would agree to come.    I gotta say my brother P' Knot is a great "partner in crime" and a wonderful brother to be working with.  I certainly thank Jesus for placing him in my life.

Coming back at the end of Summer

So we are heading back to the states this summer, well, at the end of the summer that is.  I can't believe it's actually happening already.  So many things we've been missing about California; Mexican food, friends, family, cold weather, John's incredible pizza, American roads and freeways, being able to speak the English language, opportunities to encourage/support and challenge the church.   These are just to name a few.  There are a few things you could keep in your prayers.  The first is that we would finish our ministry here in Thailand well, second is that we are well prepared for our return, and thirdly we are in need for a place to stay.  We are looking for a furnished apartment, or a small house.  This is something we need to give to the LORD and trust that HE will provide...His track record has been pretty good, perfect in fact.  Thank you for all of your prayers and support...we look forward to seeing you soon.

New 7-11

So we just received word that while we were in Chiang Mai they built a new 7-11!
This is big news, we had 2 stores in the past and they built a new one about 7 months ago.  But with the latest addition we have a total of 4.  It's kind of like a mini mall for our family.  We usually are pretty good about making friends as well.  The boys especially.

PHAW

PHAW stands for Pre Home Assignment Workshop.  It is put on by OMF-Overseas Missions Fellowship, I believe that's what it stands for.  It was formerly CIM-China Inland Mission-which was established by Hudson Taylor.  It was an honor to be able to meet missionaries from different organizations, different backgrounds, some working as teachers, counsellors, dorm parents, church planters, and doctors.  However, we all are doing work in SE Asia, working with our Lord advancing the Kingdom of Heaven.
When I first was in the course some people took a little while to get used to me.  But at the end many people were shouting laughing, and during the afternoon shift the teachers actually let me teach the class some dance moves to Toby Mac.
So grateful for the wonderful peopl we met and for the great training we received.

Friend from Bakersfield

So we had the great privilege of having our friend Aimee Bradshaw come stay with us for a week.  It was great to have a friend come and to be able to connect with her as our children love her as well.   She is currently a missionary in India, so much work to be done in that wonderful country.  May the LORD bless Aimee tremendously.
